Ctrl-pad was started in the fall of 2004 to provide the Fleet Industry with a competitive software system that takes advantage of the newest technology that has surfaced in recent years. Specifically, we zeroed in on the Microsoft .NET framework currently being offered by Microsoft Corporation. The initial design was completed in the first quarter of 2006 with a scope expanded to include all assets that make up the core investments of most organizations. The purpose of our software is the accountability, life-cycle costing, assignment and utilization of those assets.
Our founder, Jim Nelson, has twenty five years of experience in fleet management software and over 40 years experience in information technology. Jim has put together a small and very experienced staff of programmers and quality assurance professionals to tackle the design, implementation, documentation and testing of an extensive Asset Control System. The term asset is meant to include all critical equipment, inventory, fuel, facilities and people.

Our design philosophy
The most critical factor of our design is the integrity of the database. Without that the application would be suspect. To optimize performance, we have used Microsoft development tools and the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Database. This database system is feature rich and we have used much of that functionality to enhance our product. The presentation of the system is also very important. The customer can modify almost every element in our screen design. Customization allows the system to better adapt into each unique environment. People learn and think differently and we respect those differences. You can modify these applications to your comfort.
