The user department looks at an application and judges on the functionality or how easy it looks to use. We all know that the process can be less than accurate. We must look at the software as it functions in the global scheme of your organization.
We have designed the Professional Series™ of assets management products to be run in a Microsoft Windows™ environment. The major aspects of the Professional Series™ are outlined on the Professional Series Technology page.
We have included throughout the system productivity features to make the users life easier. These features are all unlimited and apply to every record in the system. They include notes that are date/time stamped and user stamped with a subject so that specific notes are easier to find. Photographs are included and attachments which are any file type from .doc, PDF, spreadsheets, drawings; any document or file that you want to attach is stored in the Ctrl-pad database. Typical uses would be floor schematics for a building, line sheet for heavy equipment, MSDS sheets for parts, copies of oil analysis results. All those records that exist outside most systems can now be included to be viewed anywhere in the system. If finance wants a copy of an invoice, they can go in directly and retrieve it. Other aids include a task management system that can link tasks to an asset and assign that task to an employee or shop with target dates. You can also attach an internet link to a record; when selected, it takes you to that page. By designing outside the box, we have achieved a system that truly serves the user in many practical ways.
