The Professional Series™ Technology

The Professional Series™ uses today's technology to give the system administrator as well as the user a great experience. Ctrl-pad's forward focus on technology allows us to bring you new features and functionality that will make your job easier.

Below is a brief list of some of the technology that is in all Professional Series™ products.

• Bar coding
  Full support for bar codes is built in. Using our bar code system you are able to scan the bar code for any work order, service or part and be taken right to that item. That means a great reduction in the amount of time and mistakes that happen in your organization.

• RFID
  By using RFID tags we have made the process of managing your assets drastically easier. Simply wave your receiver in the compartment and all items will be inventoried.

• Touch screen support
  Full touch screen support including Ink support for data entry. This means that you may use your stylus to write instead of having to use a keyboard or using the stylus with a virtual keyboard. By using the Ink input, you can turn your stylus into a pen instead of turning it into just a mouse.

• Centralized data storage
  All information is stored in the data store making it easy to perform a system backup by simply backing up your database. All user preferences, notes, images, attachments and registration information will be safe with one simple backup.

• Written in 100% native C#
  No installation problems because the entire application is written in native C#. Using the .NET 2.0 framework from Microsoft which gives us the ability to leverage the current technologies to give you an easy to use, flexible product.

• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 backend
  By using Microsoft SQL Server for the data store, we have been able to optimize performance of the data access layer.

• Uses "Push" technology
  The days of having to refresh the screen to see other users changes are gone. We have taken full advantage of the "push" technology on all screens which means reduced bandwidth for you and real time updates for the user.

• Extensive use of SQL stored procedures
  Stored procedures allow us to maximize performance and security in one place. We use 100% stored procedures for all data store calls.

• Built-in report writer
  All of our products come with a  built-in report writer. The report writer is a fully functional and easy to use system. All the reports that ship with our products have been written using this built-in report writer which means that you do not have to worry about hard-coded reports that you can't customize. You are able to take any report in our system and customize it to your exacting needs or we can do it for you.

• True referential integrity
  Our database design uses today's current standards for good database design from ground up including referential integrity. No more days of orphaned child records or slow performance because of bad design.

• Run Crystal Reports natively
  You may take any Crystal Reports that you have written and embed them into the system and the user will not be able to tell which are built-in reports and which are the ones that you have embedded.
